If Jamie Oliver can get the young cooking, then Spinon can get them talking politics. Politics is intrinsically interesting and relevant to young people’s lives, and needs to be represented in such a way. Energy needs to be put back into politics: it needs to re-packaged, and re-branded as something that isn’t stuffy and elitist, but as something that is part of youth culture. The dull faces of politicians need to be replaced by enthusiastic and engaging youthful vigour.

The Spinon Solution
Spinon will work on two levels to engage young people in politics:

  • The development of a "Youth political brand". Built across several different and inter-linked media platforms, "Spinon" will stand for politics for the e-generation. Whenever a young person thinks of politics, they will think of Spinon. Spinon will present politics in an engaging and accessible format in the form of a TV programme (SpinonTV). . . it will also maintain a relationship with the audience on the web (Spinon.co.uk), via SMS and also in print.

  • Not only will Spinon act as an independent brand, Spinon will also use its expertise to work with other political and social organisations in developing case specific "engagement solutions". Working in this way will allow Spinon to engage people beyond Spinon’s media brand.
