Connect
Creating a "Youth Political brand" by re-packaging politics for the younger generation will engage young people in a passive sense. In order to engage them actively there is a need to actually physically connect them to the political process; not only do people need to feel as though Politics affects their lives, but also that they can affect Politics.

To achieve this we must mix traditional information with new communications technologies: technology is ineffective without information. Low turnouts at elections are not simply caused by the inaccessibility of voting mechanisms, but also by the inaccessibility of information for the voter to make an informed vote.

The advent of new technologies such as e-mail and SMS text messaging allows greater communication between individuals. If used in the right way, this technology may also enable improved communication between the citizen and the political establishment, and allow citizens to become more active in the political process. There are a number of ways in which information technology will enable closer connection to the Establishment:

  • Confrontationally (against)

  • Constructively (with)

  • Dutifully (voting)
